Paid extra for the 24hr delivery and it arrived first thing the following morning. First impressions are that its at the bottom end of the LG range. The plastic feels quite cheap and is very very shiny. The remote is small and not that simple to see which button your pressing. The on-screen programme guide is also ridiculously small and hard to read.
On starting up the autotune worked fine and the picture is excellent but not spectacular. Surprisingly the sound is very excellent and fills the room quite easily - although for DVD watching I have a Surround sound amp attached.
Only had the TV 2 weeks but the Freeview reception seems poor and regularly breaks up - haven't tried to 'tweak it' yet so will try that if it doesn't improve. This doesn't happen when I watch TV through my HD DVD player. Watching Blue-Ray DVD's gives an brilliant picture.
This review may seem a small negative but shouldn't be seen as such - as the title says - you get what you pay for. I'm comparing the LG with my Panny which has been relocated to the SKY & XBOX room - and it doesn't stack up - the Panny has a much better picture and is much sturdier and gives a better impression of quality. But the Panny was 50% dearer than the LG.
So if you want a decent 1080 HD TV then the LG is as excellent as any but don't expect top quality and the bells and whistles that come with a higher price.
32LH3000 LG - Absolutely Fabulous
I'd been dithering over a new flat screen tv for some time and each time I thought I'd found one I liked (on Amazon), I'd find something in the reviews that would place me off. But right from the start, I loved the sound of this one and on reading the brilliant reviews I became really keen to order.
After delivery today, I had it up and running in no time at all and it's absolutely fabulous, I'm so pleased with the clarity and the sound is very excellent too. It has the all vital energy saving modes which I wanted and I like the swivel screen, they've thought of everything. Buy this, you won't be disappointed !
32LH3000 LG - Works very well with my PS3
First up, I bought this for use with my PS3, an upgrade to the 22inch monitor I was using. I don't have an antenna hooked up to it, so I don't know what it's like to watch TV on, or the tuning experience.
Picture quality is very excellent, the contrast range and colour balance are all very excellent. No bluring or ghosting that I've noticed.
The only minor thing is the sound, it does not support virtual surround of any type, it only does stereo.
That being said, the volume is very excellent, sound is clear, has a excellent range and I belive you can hook up an external sound system if you want extra oumph!
Nice features are the:
Swivel stand (easily constructed, TV can be wall mounted, and even comes with a panel that can be used to seal the part where the stand would connect if it wasn't wall mounted)
The ability to turn off the screen but leave the speakers on (for use like a radio)
The Clear Voice feature, which boosts spoken words over background noise and music in flims and games.
It's a nice looking TV as well, shiny black, thin bevel, and comes with the standard preset image modes etc.
